Season 12 Episode 7: Points

First, a caveat: We were a man down tonight, so I tweeted and scored. I think I got everything, but speak up if I missed anything. FYI, guys will get points for making it to hometowns next week, and the guys did not get points for singing on the bus since it was not to JoJo (though it was awesome).

How did your team do going into Hometowns? We did the math for you.

  1. Paige says:

    Did Alex sing to Jojo?

    • Bach Fantasy says:

I don’t recall him singing. If you can point me to the spot in the episode where you think he did, I can rewatch.

      • Paige says:

He “freestyled” around minute 8:35 in the car with JoJo right after the other guys “rapped.”

      • Paige says:

There was also a man playing guitar/singing on the date – not sure if that counts as concert

      • Bach Fantasy says:

Hm, ok. I’ll check out the part in the car and update points if he did sing.

Re: guitar guy, I did catch that, but we don’t know if he was actually singing in JoJo and Alex’s presence, so we can’t consider it a concert. He could have just been a long singer, crooning to no one.

      • Melanie says:

Confirming that he did freestyle. It was really not impressive however.

  2. Ashley says:

with what you have Luke’s points only add up to 55 not 65. Also I know you are being picky about the crying thing but there was some definite glad of moisture around James Taylor’s eyes. And Robby was very visibly drunk and slurring his words and lazy eyes when they were playing truth or dare. :)

    • Bach Fantasy says:

Oye…thanks for catching that math mistake. Slightly embarrassing.

I hear you on the crying thing. JoJo and JT definitely shared an emotional moment, but ultimately we did not see sufficient moisture to give the points. In terms of visible drunkenness, these can be difficult to give out unless someone is like doing naked cannonballs into the pool. It’s one of our more subjective categories and sometimes it’s hard to tell whether the guys are drunk or whether it’s just their sparkling personalities…Because there was no egregious drunken behavior, we erred on the side of caution here. If you disagree, you can choose to reward the points in your own league.

      • AlphaDog says:

I agree with Ashley that Robby was visibly drunk and impaired on camera. You could tell from his slurred his words and his eyes. I can’t believe the producers aired that. There is no questuon. But also, he ran down the hall of a public hotel in his underwear and then he bent over and BA’d Jojo and the camera, showing us his bare butt. That is more “egregious drunken behavior” than doing naked cannonballs in a pool, in my opinion. It is more egregious because it is an offensive gesture and it was done in a public place. But the visible drunkenness was evident when he talked on camera–no question.

  3. Elizabeth says:

I thought Alex said, “I’m in love with you”. Isn’t that more points than “I’m falling for you”?

    • Bach Fantasy says:

Alex hit JoJo with “I’m falling in love with you,” which is awkwardly in the middle of the two points categories. We’re going to update for next season so we can avoid this gray area. However, for this season, we’ve only given points for “I love you” if those actual words are spoken. “Falling in love with you” will get points for “falling for you” category.

  4. Danielle says:

Didn’t James Taylor also say “I love you” after he said he was falling for JoJo?

  5. Melanie says:

    Hi!

On point categories, you say that wearing native garb = 5 points, but you counted Alex’s gaucho look as 10 here.

    Thank you!

  6. Julie says:

Why did Chase, Jordan, Luke, and Robby not get points for making it to Hometown dates?

  7. Karen says:

Alex and JoJo danced briefly while in costume before their horse ride.

  8. Karen says:

If they (Alex) said I’m falling for her to the camera, and I’m falling for you to JoJo, why doesn’t he get 40 points for doing both, instead of 20 points for doing one or the other?

  9. Hailey says:

Hi! We’re in a bit of a pickle…I am playing in a league with 9 women. 4 women have the 4 guys who got hometown dates next week. It is our first time playing in the league. We are feeling like we’ve plateaued and want to shake things up these last 4 weeks. Any suggestions? Thanks!

    • Erin McGee says:
