Season 12 Episode 9: Points

Well, the themes of this week were heartbreak and swamp ass. Why they insist on traveling to the center of Satan’s butt crack for these final episodes is beyond me. Then again, the very existence of this show relies almost exclusively on people having bad judgement, so maybe I’ll shut up.

So now to points…

  1. Chase came SO CLOSE to getting those beautiful 50 points for coming back to the show…only he explicitly stated that he was not coming back for another chance. We will consider adding a category for coming back to the show to save face and position yourself as a candidate for the next Bachelor.
  2. There is no more greatly contested category than the “I love you” category. We’ve held the line and insisted that the ONLY way to earn those points is to actually say those three words, in that order. The points below reflect that policy. That said…I’m not 100% sure on whether Robby ever said “I love you” this episode. He definitely said “I’ve fallen in love with you.” If you know he said “I love you,” let us know and we can revisit.

  1. Jordyn says:

I believe Robby said ” you know I love you”. I think it’s when he visited her between chases dates but I’m not 100%.

    • Bach Fantasy says:

Ah I feel like he had to have said it too, but I didn’t track it when I was counting. I have to rewatch.

  2. Dan says:

I’m pretty sure that Robby and Chase both said “I love you.” Also, I know that Chase didn’t come back to ask for a second chance, but does he get points for interrupting the rose ceremony?

Also I thought Jordan had a picnic with JoJo! Also that Robby gave her a gift (that note from his dad)

    • Bach Fantasy says:

I’m going to rewatch both Chase and Robby’s dates to confirm the “I love yous”

Also, you’re so right about the interrupting the rose ceremony points. I was so excited to almost give coming back to beg points, that I overlooked that category. Updating now!

  3. Paige says:

I think Chase should get points for “Interrupting a rose ceremony to ask to speak with the Bachelorette alone.” Poor guy deserves something for that charade. I agree with Jordyn about Robby. He inserted an “I love you” in that order somewhere.

  4. Chris says:

Second many of the above comments. Robby not only gave her a gift, but said “you know I love you.” Chase also seems to deserve points for interrupting the rose ceremony, but I didn’t catch him saying I love you.

    • Bach Fantasy says:

Robby gave her a gift? If it was the letter from his dad, we’re not counting that. If there was another gift, let me know.

Chase now has points for interrupting and I’m going to rewatch for the alleged “I love you.”

  5. Janine Cooper says:

Did Chase not say I love you????

  6. A says:

Did Luke cry? I didn’t see the first half of the episode but all the recaps I’m reading keep saying he cried, but maybe tears just didn’t fall?

  7. Melanie says:

    Hello!
-Chase said “I do love you.” which is like poor man’s way of saying it. he had to say “do” to reassure her.
-And yes Robby said it to her too. in fact if he said the word love more i would have had to shut off the TV. too much. SMOTHERING.
-And I’m awarding points for Chase interrupting the ceremony.

    • Bach Fantasy says:

      Hi Melanie –

Why can’t these guys just make it clear for us. I’m going to rewatch Chase and Robby for the “I love you.” Chase definitely earned those interrupting points (see above replies), so feel free to reward those. I’m editing the points now.

  8. Robyn says:

You guys do great with the points!! Tough to catch everything, and semantics suck :) Rules are rules, I like you sticking by saying “I love you” to get the points.. Mind you I’m so far behind that I have no more skin in the game lol

    • Bach Fantasy says:

Aw thank you for saying that, Robyn!! We truly appreciate it. We try to get everything right, but this show is always throwing curveballs!

  9. Tom says:

    On another matter …
Our inaugural office pool for Bachelorette JoJo has been a huge success.
Will you be doing any kind of pool for the upcoming “Bachelor in Paradise” – or does that program not lend itself to this format?
    Thanks!

  10. Jennifer says:

What was the wildcard points this week?

  11. Tess says:

Does Jordan get points for the picnic?!

    • Bach Fantasy says:

Hi Tess – I looked closely at this part of the date, and they were simply sitting on the blanket – no food was consumed, so the points do not count.
