Season 12, Episode 8: Points

Last night, we went on a whirlwind tour of JoJo’s suitors’ formative hometowns in Highlands Ranch, CO; Chico, CA; St. Augustine, FL; and Burnet, TX. The episode ended with the dreaded To Be Continued, chapping the nation’s collective ass. We’ll have to wait for the earth to rotate six more times before finding out who gets the invitations to the fantasy suite. SIGH.

Stay tuned for a post detailing Men Tell All points categories. We like to do something *~*speshul*~* for that ep.

So I know I am getting ahead of myself here but being the commissioner I just want to keep my team informed, with the episode only being a week away. Do you have the points categories for the Men Tell All episode? Also that one would be judged off of your initial draft not re-draft right? Or is that up to me?

  2. Kelsi says:

Will there be point categories added for next week’s tell all?

  3. cristina says:

did luke not fully drop an “i love you” when he interrupted the rose ceremony?

    • Bach Fantasy says:

Not that I caught. Anyone else? I listened for it but I heard, “I have fallen in love with you” or some such variation. Not those three magic words.

      • cristina says:

he says “i’m in love with you” not “i’m falling in love with you,” not sure how you categorize that. I’d say it’s in the “i love you” category :)

  4. lizzylou says:

I thought Robby said “I love you” directly a few different times–does that still count or did it only count the first time?

    • Bach Fantasy says:

You can only get one tally per category per episode — but he didn’t say, “I love you” he said, “I’ve fallen in love with you” and “I’m in love with you.” We’re holding out for those three words to give that category.

  5. Dan says:

I agree – I think Jordan, Robby and Luke all said variations on “I love you” to Jojo! Luke said “I’m in love with you” during his interruption.

    • Bach Fantasy says:

They did say variations but we’re holding out for the direct “I love you” in order to award that category! It’s worth more, emotionally and points-wise.

  6. MC says:

Didn’t Luke talk about his parents relationship with his dad or does it have to be with JoJo. Also im pretty sure Luke said both “I’m falling for you” and “I love you”

  7. Susan Smith says:

I agree with the above commenters. I heard Robby say “I Love you” and Luke definitely talked about his parents relationship with his dad…though I believe I saw in a prior post that it only counts if it’s to the bachelorette. Luke said “I’m falling for you” on the date and then said “I’m in love with you” during the rose ceremony….but it only counts if it is “I love you”

  8. Jessica says:

I need a tie breaker idea, if you have any!! I have 5 people with the same picks. Help! 😄

    • Ashley says:

I told the girls I would give them a 75 point bonus if they could name the remaining guys off in order from the next gone to the winner and they have to get it 100% right or you could do like 10 points per right guess. I had them do this before Alex and James T left and we have a 13 person team and so far only 5 are still left in the running for the points.

      • Jessica says:

Shoot! I should have done that earlier- thanks though!

      • Alison Kelemen says:

With fantasy pools, if there is a bet involved, you are not allowed to change the rules or add extra point events or situations later. Once the game starts and everyone was aware of the rules when they entered, that’s it. You can change the game for next time, but not during this present game. If you don’t believe me, contact any of the coordinators out there who do fantasy pools and are well known celebrities.

Out of my five picks, four ended up being hometown dates. I was ahead of the other girls. There was a 5 bottle of wine bet, per person, and each bottle had to be $10. I was slated to win.

Then, two of the six women decided, on their own, without unanimous agreement, to add new point scenarios. That would give the underdogs a chance to come from behind and win. The extra points available were so much higher than the point values for all of the other scenarios, which had been anywhere from 5 to 50 points. No, these were 500 points, 1,000 points, 2000 if you correctly pick the number one and number two bachelors at the end.

So, I wrote to Patrick Mayo (Google him). I told him what had happened. He said that I should be furious. He stated that never in a gambling situation are the rules allowed to be changed once the game has started.

You may think it’s fun to add new rules and spice up the game, but trust me, the person who was winning is not going to be happy about this, and you may lose a friend or two.

  9. Alison Kelemen says:

I just dropped out of my pool because the coordinator added new, last-minute criteria when I was in the lead, slated to win. I had originally picked four of the four for hometown dates, and I had the most points of the 6 of us. Then, just today, at the last minute, the coordinator added this bullshit (so even the total underdogs could suddenly win):

    Bonus:

    · Choosing the Bachelor who win JoJo’s heart (1000 points)

    · Choosing the Bachelor who almost win’s JoJo’s heart, who places 2nd (500 points)

    · Correctly guessing first and second place (2000 points)

Am I wrong to be upset and decide to say, “F-you…”?
