Well. Here at BachFantasy HQ, we are shook. Simply put:
Just can’t believe Rachel let Peter (sweet, mature, crying-his-eyes-out-on-his-sweater, adorably gap-toothed Peter!) go because he wasn’t ready to propose after six weeks of nonexclusive dating. He was READY to start a life with her! He just wasn’t ready to propose yet. So instead, she bid adieu to this…
and signed on for a life sentence with a Certified Monster-in-Law and a marriage to a man who has appeared on another reality dating show. Bryan was her second-choice! It was so obvious to the at-home viewer and the entire Internet. But our girl wanted a ring, and she wanted it bad.
Rachel did some impressive back-pedaling during the live finale, trying to explain that there were some other issues with Peter that led to their break-up (What—his six pack was too firm? She frequently got lost in his eyes? He was just TOO understanding?). Frankly, we’re not buying what she’s selling. She was justifying her choice of spouse, and we all saw through it. Peter telling her to enjoy her mediocre life (and then later apologizing for that like the goddamn Wisconsin gentleman he is!) was a great mic drop moment. Then, Rach retorted that she’s living her best life, with a haughty little hair flip and a big dose of sass. Methinks the lady doth protest too much…
Anyway. Mazel to the newly betrothed, or whatever.
At least Eric’s revenge beard was on POINT during the live portion of the finale. Gotta cling to small victories in moments like these, ya know?
Here’s what we got for the final points. What’d you think of this season’s ending? Let us know in the comments.

Here I am! Bright, early and annoying with comments per usual.
In their big goodbye scene, Eric earned some points:
+10 for the fact that they awkwardly kissed on the lips bye
+30 for telling Rachel he’ll always love her
+50 because Rachel told him she loves him (even though she’s not in love with him)
THANK YOU for another great season! Can’t wait for next time. Enjoy BIP!
P.S. I feel like Peter’s sad goodbye has overshadowed Eric’s greatness.
P.P.S. Can’t you just see it now – the flash backs to the crying goodbye scene as the opening package for Peter’s season of the Bachelor? Snooze. Fingers crossed Dean doesn’t find love in Paradise so that he can be part of my 2018 Monday night rituals, too.
Updated Eric’s points! Thanks, Melanie!
Peter’s sad goodbye DEF overshadowed Eric’s greatness. He was looking SO GOOD at the (pseudo) After the Finale Rose ceremony. That beard…
And we’re so with you — as much as we love Peter, we want him to find love off-screen. This format just isn’t right for his delicate, mature constitution!
Also … we’ve heard some rumors that American won’t be loving Dean as much after BIP. Which is a bummer, because we’re all in on Dean right now…
Dean would have to do some pretty serious shit for me not to be in love with him.
Thanks for everything!
But even if we don’t think the format is good for Peter, can we talk a bit about how Rachel totally sabotaged any Bachelor-lead aspirations he MAY have had? It seemed a little vindictive and I didn’t like it!
I agree completely with everything you said. So sad!!!
Agree! Eric needs all those points stated above.
Updated! :)
Thanks for a great season! See you next time around when hopefully Copper is looking for love (since that will be the only acceptable lead).
100%
I think everyone fell in love with Peter, exactly the way the producers planned on it happening. And I just feel bad for Rachel and Bryan.
When Rachel was picked we all rejoiced because she is a successful, mature, intelligent woman with a professional career.
To diminish her choice because the producers played an angle that Peter was so amazing and Bryan was just the default is extremely unfair to her and Bryan. Bryan was clearly the front-runner from the beginning and the producers needed some sort of story to keep people interested.
Live 3 hour finale format was terrible and I hope they never repeat it again.
Great perspective! I totally agree.
Didn’t Eric “talk shit” about Peter by name saying he doesn’t understand why she would send him home because Eric wasn’t ready? Also didn’t he ask Rachel why she got rid of him/what went wrong?
Also thank you for doing this for another season! It makes watching so much more fun for our group!
Thank you guys so much for KEEPING IT ONE HUNDRED even when others do not :P. Seriously, my life would be much worse if I didn’t have BachFantasy in my life. The way y’all have this organized is so much better than the abc version and the yahoo version. Can’t wait for the bachelor! I definitely think they are grooming Eric hard.
Will BachFantasy be scoring Arie’s season?
I am also wondering this!
Me too!
Any word on Arie’s season? I have a group that is ready.
