Weren’t the wildcard points doubled for making a disparaging comment about Ashley S.? I believe Kaitlyn should have the 20 Points! Our league was drinking every time we herd the word “rose” last night. May have been a little tipsy, they said it a lot!
Hi Shannon – we decided not to award last week’s Wildcard points this week. Instead we made this week’s worth 40 points.
Oh sorry! I didn’t see where you posted what the wildcard points were for this week. What was it? (I blame Malibu Pineapples.)
No problem! We tweeted them out a little before 8 pm EST. Wildcard points went to the first girl Chris said he could see himself marrying/see as his future wife.
A few questions.
Did Ashley I have any body parts blurred? I thought her back was to the camera.
I thought Chris first said that he could see himself with Kaitlyn on the campout? Did he actually say he could marry Jade?
I thought a few of the girls were visibly drunk on the campout and a couple comments were made about it – Ashley S, Meghan
Technically Ashley S kissed Chris, I don’t think he kissed back, but she did kiss him.
Great catch, Steve. I saw a bikini top come off, and immediately gave her those points. You’re right though – we didn’t need anything blurred. I updated her score.
Also – we were definitely looking out for drunk behavior. Even though the girls were drinking, nobody exhibited overtly drunk behavior, so we didn’t award points for that.
Wait so, how are we doing updates? I’ve been reading the comments and then updating my score sheet. Are you waiting and adding them into the next week’s totals? Gotta make sure I’m not double counting! Being the commish is hard, but important, work.
You’re doing God’s work as commissioner, Bethany. Your friends owe you a beer (or several) after the season is over. We’ll put a little “Stat Correction” notice next to the girls whose points have changed since the initial posting but everything should be solidified by this afternoon!
Not sure Jade deserves the wildcard points. He didn’t actually say that he could see her as his future wife – pretty sure it was just “someone that he could see himself with”
We debated this for a bit and were on the fence. Usually, we’re pretty literal and strict with the points. In this case, Chris expressed the sentiment of the wilcard points several times, though he didn’t technically say future wife. We decided to award the points, though you can feel free to leave them out this week.
I believe you guys can’t expect Chris to properly articulate any of the classic Bach one-liners without fumbling over his words, so I fully support the liberal application of points for this category.
He also said the same thing about Kaitlin earlier in the episode….
Samantha went on the camping group date. They never show her on camera (ever) so hard to say, but her name was on the date card.
You’re right! Funny thing is – I rewatched the entire actual date (but not the date card part) to make sure I didn’t miss anything, and didn’t notice that she was even there. Chick needs to cry more or something. She’s like a ghost. Thanks for catching that!

Hi Paris – she definitely got emotional. I watched this part a few times to be sure, but there was no moisture. We had to get pretty strict with the crying points otherwise we’d be handing them out like candy.

Hi Ann – we haven’t been giving points to girls who weren’t technically selected for a one-on-one date, but rather won one-on-one time based on a group date activity.
Does Carly get any points for mentioning 1) her deceased grandpa and 2) her grandparents’ marriage? Or does only parents’ marriage count? Or was I imagining that her grandpa was dead?
We decided against awarding the points for grandparents’ marriage – though we did consider it. Ultimately, the points category specifically says parents. I don’t believe she mentioned that her Grandpa was dead.

Unfortunately, the rule is that it has to be someone telling Chris, i.e. ratting out another girl in the house for “not being here for the right reasons.”
This is about the scoring template (thank you for sharing that, by the way!)…I was entering this week’s scores and I looked at the grand total, and for some of the girls it’s less than last week’s. Is that happening to anyone else? No one has gotten any penalties or anything, so I don’t know how that could be. Help!

Hi KT – Carly got emotional, but there were no tears falling. Trust me, I checked several times! In terms of the deceased Grandpa – until she says outright that he is deceased, we stand firm on not awarding points. Maybe he was nice one time, and she was referring to that one in the past tense. We don’t know his life…

I noticed the formula in the ‘points to date’ row beginning episode 4 is incorrect. All of them are using episode 2’s totals. Is it possible to have a new spreadsheet sent out with the correct formula in the ‘points to date’ rows? Would greatly appreciate your help!

I’m having the same problem with the template. It’s adding this week’s scores to the Week 2 cumulative total rather than adding it to the Week 3 cumulative total.
Figured out the totals problem in the spreadsheet. The formula for the blue total row is formatted to add this week’s total to Episode 2 grand total when it should add it to Episode 3 grand total. This is the way it is formatted for every episode, meaning every week, it will add that episode’s total to Episode 2’s grand total rather than the running total from the week before. You will have to fix it if you want the right totals.
If you are a novice Excel user, here is the simple (if a little slow) way to fix it. It should take you about 10 minutes to do it this way.
For week 4, click on the first box of the blue row then look at the formula bar at the top (above the letters at the top of each column; it has fx next to it.) In that formula it says
=’Ep #2′!D34
Change the 2 to a 3 (to make it add Episode 3’s total instead of Episode 2’s total) and hit ENTER. Do this for every box on the blue line. (For more advanced users, you can copy the first cell, select the rest of the cells, and paste.) When you finish that page, hit ESCAPE before going to the next tab.
You will need to do this for every week by changing the number to the previous week’s episode number; i.e. on the Episode 5 tab, you will change the 2 to a 4, on the Episode 6 tab, you will change the 2 to a 5.
It’s pretty simple but if you are worried about messing it up, just save a second copy and work from that one so you will have a backup copy just in case.

I could be mistaken, but it appeared that Jade’s back tattoo was blurred throughout her princess date. It may just have been cover up, but worth a second look.
You’ve got eagle eyes, Alicia! I did a rewatch and it looks like cover-up makeup rather than pixelation, but I’ll be on the lookout for that in future episodes. I had no idea she even HAD a back tattoo.
